India: Most Dangerous Country for women..

Dangerous Countries for women..

So recently, a poll was conducted where India was considered ti be the worst country for women. Afgantistan and Syria were second and third in the list.
I disagree with the result that India is the riskiest. I'm not saying that India is very safe for women but  it is of course better than other countries in the list. For example say, Syria, woman are raped publicly more often than in India. The government has no policies against it. In Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia pregnant woman need to walk for miles to get food and medication. These conditions make difficult for woman to survive. In one country army men also rape woman. The most shocking fact about the poll was USA being 10th. In such developed nations also sexual and domestic violence are prevelant. In Qatar men rape woman belonging to their family. There is a lot of domestic volience. Mothers also make their children work and beat them a lot. In such a country a World Cup is going to be hosted. Despite of the wealth in a few counties, these things keep on taking place and there's no one to listen. Even in our country India, most of the cases go unreported. After reading about conditions of woman in other countries in the list , I felt that India couldn't be the worst. But none of us want such violences taking place in future, let it be any woman belonging to any country. Every one has their rights. All governments should focus upon such matters. The basic fact is that there should be severe punishment. Maybe then men stop doing such things.

  2. Security of women had always been in question for most of the countries and will continue to be so unless the people actually believe in the concept of Gender equality... A mere shout or two, from the politicians or the social activists won't help... People (read Men, and of course not every man) need to understand that women are not weak, neither they are the recessive traits... They need to wipe out the patriarchal beliefs from within... The world would then be a better and a safer place for us...
Misha... Well written... Keep it up...

  9. Excellent writeup Misha. I really appreciate your thought process and completely agree with you. After an atrocity against women happens all meetings, processions and the media become very active. But the same incident keeps repeating. It is impossible Afghanistan and Syria can never rank better than us. In all countries this issue is not taken seriously at all so the root cause is never analysed and hence no solution comes out. You are our next generation so I expect more such blogs from you in the future.Keep it up!!!

  14. But a Mint analysis of data from demographic and health surveys (DHS) conducted across developing nations of the world shows that the incidence of sexual violence reported by women is lower in India than in most other countries for which such data is available. And the incidence of such violence has declined over time.

Of the 43 countries for which recent data on sexual violence is available, India ranks 32 when it comes to the share of women aged 15-49 who ever experienced such violence in their lifetime. These 43 countries are those for which the last DHS survey was conducted on or after 2010.

    1. Yes, but we don't want our country to rank in such a matter. Let it be first or 32nd. We want all the women to be safe and secure.

  15. Tbh India might have developed rapidly after independence but the mentality have gradually went down...this is a very shameful act nd the fact our country is not secure for women have became a serious concern nd no one else can't do anything unless we change our cheap mentality..that person who has a cheap mentality should be hanged to death...we all should be aware coz today is happening with someone else, tomorrow it might happen to our near nd dear ones...if we change our mentality then I bet this kind of incidents will never happen nd our country can be called as the safest country for women...

    1. I completely agree with you..Our country has developed but the mentality of people has beccome more corrupt and cheap..We our selves don't care about all these things..we don't know what happnes to whom.. And yes if someday we all change our mental state then I'm sure that our country will be one of the safest..
